The concupiscence of the eyes is not of God, but of the world

âFor all that is in the world is the concupiscence of the flesh, and the concupiscence of the eyes, and the pride of life, which is not of the Father, but is of the worldâ (1 John 2:16).
Doctrine
St. Cyprian (252): âAn ever-burning Gehenna and the punishment of being devoured by living flames will consume the condemned; nor will there be any way in which the tormented can ever have respite or the torments end⌠weeping will be useless, and prayer ineffectual.â
