St. Alphonsus: âMy brother, in this picture of death behold yourself, and what you will one day become: âRemember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return.â Consider that in a few years, perhaps months or days, thou wilt become rottenness and worms. This thought made Job a saint: âI have said to rottenness, Thou art my father; to worms, My mother and my sisterâ (Job. 17:14).â
Doctrine
Second Council of Constantinople, Canon 1, 553: âIf anyone does not confess one nature or essence of Father and Son and Holy Spirit, and one power and authority, a consubstantial Trinity to be worshipped as one Godhead in three hypostases or persons, let such a one be anathema.â
