Found In The Decretals & Intended For The Whole Church
Itâs interesting to note that Pope St. Siriciusâ 385 Decree to Himerius, which explicitly denies that unbaptized catechumens in any necessity can be saved by desiring baptism, was intended for the whole Church and found in important collections of the earliest papal decretals.
âNot only is all of Spain supposed to be informed of the âstatuta apostolicae sedisâ; Siricius intended it for the whole Church.â (Detlev Jasper and Horst Fuhrmann, Papal Letters in The Early Middle Ages, p. 21)
âSiriciusâ decretal to Himerius of Tarragona⌠was present in almost all of the systematic collections [of the early papal decretals].â (Detlev Jasper and Horst Fuhrmann, Papal Letters in The Early Middle Ages, p. 40)
