Freemasonry and Ireland

Dear MHFM,

I always found it interesting that the Grand Lodge of Freemasonry for Ireland is a one minute walk away from our government parliament building, Dáil Éireann.

You can see they are a mere stone throw away from each other in this link.

Just recently I found something interesting in the government act of 1920. This act played a big part in giving birth to the Irish state after independence from Britain. In section 65 of the government act of 1920, it says the following,

65.-(1) "It is hereby declared that existing enactments relative to unlawful oaths or unlawful assemblies in Ireland do not apply to the meetings or proceedings of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ireland, or of any lodge or society recognised by that Grand Lodge. (2) Neither the Parliament of Southern Ireland, nor the Parliament of Northern Ireland shall have power to abrogate or affect prejudicially any privilege or exemption of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons in Ireland, or any lodge or society recognised by that Grand Lodge which is enjoyed either by E 51 Special provisions as to Freemasons. [CH. 67.] Government of Ireland Act, 1920. [10 & 11 GEo. 5.] A.D. 1920. law or custom at the time of the passing of this Act, and any law made in contravention of this provision shall, so far as it is in contravention of this provision, be void.”

Nowadays, Ireland is seen as one of the most culturally Marxist nations. I would agree with that assessment. The corruption in this country is astounding. I believe the masonic roots of this "republic" are connected to its deplorable state today.
