Woman Celebrates 109th Birthday
fox8.com CLEVELAND — Lessie Brown celebrated her 109th birthday... Mrs. Brown said she moved to Cleveland from the south when she was a teenager in 1922. It was here that she met her husband and raised five children. Mrs. Brown said it is God’s will that she has lived this long, but a steady diet of sweet potatoes also may have helped her health. “Oh I don’t know. A lot of them say it’s because I ate a lot of sweet potatoes, but I don’t think that’s it. I don’t know, God’s will,” said Mrs. Brown. “I’m just so thankful that God has really blessed us with my mother who is 109 years young today and I’m just so happy that the family is here too,” said her daughter Vivian Hatcher. Mrs. Brown has 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren.
