Watch: NBA player calls opponent "b**** a** white boy" during game; black ESPN analyst slams him
Los Angeles Clippers player Montrezl Harrell appeared to have called Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic a "b**** a** white boy" during a playoff game on Friday night, as players, including Harrell, wore social justice messages on the backs of their jerseys:
ESPN host Jay Williams posted a video in response, directly addressing Harrell
In addition to Williams' condemnation, Gary Sheffield Jr., son of black former MLB star Gary Sheffield, wrote a column... In the article, Sheffield said:
The solution here is simple, even if many won't like it: the NBA has to suspend Montrezl Harrell and send a message that race-based derogatory comments like his on the basketball court won't be tolerated...
Montrezl Harrell's comments have already spawned a million "If the races were reversed" conversations on social media and there is no doubt that if Luka had referred to Montrezl Harrell as a "b****a** black boy," that the social media condemnation would have rained down... on Luka. In fact, Luka would probably be suspended for the remainder of the season. He would be crushed, a social pariah in all of sports.
