Locals tied the man up before beating him and leaving him locked in a cage after he was accused of stealing animals in Vietnam.
In the northern Vietnamese province of Hung Yen, the man was tied up and left for all the locals to crowd around and attack him.
The saddening footage was captured by the locals and was uploaded to social media.
The video shows an angry crowd of locals surrounding the man as he sits in a muddy wet trench in Nghia Tru Commune, alongside a dead dog, while insults are hurled at him...
This type of violence towards dog thieves is not uncommon in Vietnam where it is estimated that around five million dogs are slaughtered for food every year.
According to the Asia Canine Protection Alliance's website: "Many of these dogs are sourced from Thailand, Laos and Cambodia to ensure supply meets demand in the restaurant trade."
The dogs are often stolen from streets, packed into cages and then transported across countries with no food or drink.
