"Retired Albany Bishop Howard Hubbard has asked Francis for laicisation, he announced November 18.
PillarCatholic.com has learned that Hubbard wants to marry a woman several decades younger than him, wants to be dispensed from celibacy, and has informed the Vatican of his intentions to attempt marriage. Hubbard is 84.
He has admitted to knowingly reassigning abuser priests. In the last years, he was [falsely] accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy in the 1990s, and of abusing a minor on a parish bus in 1975. He has denied both charges...
