Torquemada: 15th Century Belief In Papal Infallibility
Theologian Juan de Torquemada (15th century) expressed belief in the infallibility of the Apostolic See (i.e. papal infallibility) in the 15th century.
Juan de Torquemada, Summa De Ecclesia, Book 4, Part 2, Chap. 9, AD 1453: “The judgment of the Apostolic See in those things which are of faith cannot err from the truth... Luke 22:32-33: ‘… but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.’”
