Toddler accidentally bids £8,000 in online auction for mechanical digger
dailymail.co.uk A toddler bought an £8,000 mechanical digger after playing on her mother's computer. Three-year-old Pipi Quinlan made the purchase with a few mouse-clicks when her mother, Sarah, went to bed without logging out of an auction site. Mrs Quinlan only realised she was the not-so-proud owner of the secondhand Kobelco digger the next morning when she went back to the computer. 'The first I knew about it was when I came down and opened up the computer,' said Mrs Quinlan. 'I saw an email from TradeMe saying I had won an auction and another email from the seller saying something like "I think you'll love this digger".' 'I had a few Duplo Lego play kits on my watch-list, so just assumed I'd won a digger toy-set,' said Mrs Quinlan, from Stanmore Bay in New Zealand. A Kobelco digger currently available on the TradeMe auction site 'It wasn't until I went back and reread the emails that I saw £8,000 and got the shock of my life.' 'I called my husband Reid over to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I asked him what a Kobelco was and he said "I think it's an earth-moving digger".' Luckily, after she called the TradeMe site to report the mistake, they agreed to void the sale.
