wlky.com JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. —A teenager is dead after police said she leaped from her parents’ vehicle in Jackson County, Indiana. "For some reason the young lady decided to get out of the car. She opened the door and jumped out," said Mike Carothers with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Laikyn Field, 17, of North Vernon, hit the pavement so hard on Saturday that she later died from serious head injuries. Police aren't entirely sure why she wanted to get out of the car so badly. "We're trying to make sure and try and find out what was going on at the time when she got out of the vehicle, whether there was an argument. We hear a lot of things. We just need to get to the bottom and find out exactly what did occur," Carother's said. to read more click here: wlky.com
