St. Gregory of Nyssa: Bishops Receive The Key Through Peter
Eastern father St. Gregory of Nyssa taught that St. Peter uniquely received the key of Heaven, a fact denied by many Eastern “Orthodox”.
St. Gregory of Nyssa, De Castigatione, c. 380-383: “Through Peter He gave to the bishops the key of the heavenly honors.” (J.P. Migne, Patrologia Graeca, 46: 312c)
