According to Saturday's publication of the Daily Record, a family got into hot water after they left their dog locked inside of a van while they frolicked in the cool water at a water park in Keansburg, N.J. A Yorkshire terrier, who belongs to Shaeif Solimon's family, was found inside of a van which was parked at Runaway Rapids at the Keansburg Amusement Park on Thursday. Keansburg Police Officer Justin Cocuzzo was able to free the small dog from the virtual oven-on-wheels...the temperature inside of the van, with the doors open, registered an unbearable 110-degrees. A witness at the water park told responding officers that the van had been parked for approximately four hours; the woman was unaware that a dog had been locked inside during that time. Soliman finally returned to the vehicle after being paged over the loud speakers for the park - he tried to claim that he had been checking on the dog every thirty minutes. The man's claim was said to be "impossible." The distressed dog, named "Julie," was transported to the Red Bank Animal Hospital where she was given fluids and treated for symptoms of heat exhaustion. Julie's owner is facing a charge of animal cruelty for the poor decision of leaving the dog locked inside of a parked car for hours on a warm day. Victor “Buddy” Amato, chief of the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of the Cruelty to Animals, told the Daily Record that what happened this past week is not uncommon, in fact, he said:Sign up for our free e-mail list to see future vaticancatholic.com videos and articles.
