Sheriff: Robber shoots partner after home invasion robbery
Calvin Men santacruzsentinel.com SANTA CRUZ >> Two suspects in a Live Oak home invasion robbery are in custody after one shot the other in the foot after an alleged robbery, Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputies said. On Friday, deputies responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Dominican Hospital, Sgt. Kelly Kent said. The man, 24-year-old Erick Vlach of Scotts Valley, initially told deputies he was shot in the right foot by an unknown assailant. When deputies pressed for details, Vlach admitted his friend, 19-year-old Capitola resident Jeremy Spencer, accidentally shot him. Deputies connected the two to a home invasion robbery on the 1500 block of 30th Avenue on Friday, which happened the same time as Vlach told deputies he was shot, Kent said. to read more: santacruzsentinel.com
