Satanic killing
TRACY MCLAUGHLIN cnews.canoe.ca BARRIE -- Sitting naked on the floor of the motel room with deep gashes in his neck and arms, Mark Dobson was open and point-blank about how he had just performed a cult killing of two women to send them to another planet, a court heard on Tuesday. "He said he crept up behind them and put them in a sleeper-hold and then finished them off with a knife," said paramedic Jeff Warriner on the witness stand. Dobson, 24, admits to killing his girlfriend, 32-year-old Mary Hepburn, of Barrie and their 52-year-old friend, Helen Dorrington, of Cold Lake, Alta. Both women were found with their heads partially severed and surrounded by tiny dolls at a Travelodge on on May 2, 2012. Dobson has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, as defence lawyer Mitch Eisen seeks to find his client not criminally responsible. Court has heard the killing was planned for the eve of Beltane, a pagan holiday. "He said it was supposed to be a suicide cult pact and that it was his job to do the other two and then kill himself," Warriner said. Dobson and the women were "demon worshippers" who met on an Internet chat line called The Joy of Satan, court has heard. to read more: cnews.canoe.ca
