Footage of the call-to-arms was captured during a debate the the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on Thursday, where the Russian leader dubbed his nation’s aggression to the West as “ludicrous”.
In a speech to both Russian and foreign politicians, along with a host of analysts, Putin slammed Barack Obama’s foreign policy and defended his decision to bombard the besieged city of Aleppo.
The Russian president said the bombing of the Syrian city was due to the aggression shown by UN nations and the bombing would not stop until the US-lead coalition did the same.
Putin said: “If we shouldn’t be there – then why are you in Mosul?
“Let’s leave everything as it is. Let’s do nothing about Raqqa. We always hear about Raqqa from our US partners and how this nest of terrorism should be destroyed but civilians live there too.
“Do you want us to do nothing about it when they take hostages in cities? Do we leave them alone?”
