Pro-Life Group Battle For Nativity Scene

dailycaller.com The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) was defeated Friday in its bid to tear down the public Nativity scene in Franklin County, Indiana. The pro-life group the Thomas More Society struck an agreement with the ACLU of Indiana to keep Franklin County’s Nativity scene on public display in front of the county courthouse for Christmas, The Daily Caller has learned. The agreement followed a contentious hearing Friday before U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. The ACLU teamed up with the Freedom from Religion Foundation to petition for an emergency injunction hearing to remove the nativity scene, which is placed in front of the courthouse each year by a group of local citizens. “We’re pleased to secure the right to display the nativity scene on the Franklin County Courthouse lawn through Christmas,” Thomas More Society vice president Peter Breen said in a statement. “The parties will now litigate the case on a normal schedule, without the threat of an emergency injunction forcing the removal of the nativity scene just before Christmas.” to read more: dailycaller.com
