Golfer John Daly said he lost between $55 million and $60 million gambling over the past 12 years and that his habit may ``ruin'' him if he can't get it under control.
Daly, a two-time major-tournament winner who also has battled alcoholism, details the gambling addiction in ``My Life In & Out of the Rough,'' a book he wrote with Glen Waggoner that will be released by HarperCollins on May 8.
The 40-year-old golfer said in the book that he has considered suicide many times and that he owed $4 million to casinos by the time he won his second major title at the 1995 British Open. He has spent the past 10 years trying to pay off gambling debts, Daly said.
