Peers Urge Firing Of Cuomo After Revelations He Used Media Sources To Snoop On Brother’s Accusers
"Leftist colleagues of CNN’s Chris Cuomo are urging his network to fire him after revelations he used his media sources to dig up dirt on women lodging sexual harassment allegations against his brother, former NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).
On Monday, text messages revealed by the New York Attorney General’s office showed Chris closely coordinated with his brother’s top aide Melissa DeRosa during the scandal, working to help steer his brother’s defense by drafting statements and gaining intel on the various accusers.
While Cuomo had previously admitted he helped his brother in the past, the scope of his involvement in the scandal was not known.
Disclosures of the network anchor’s seedy behind-the-scenes antics prompted fellow reporters to complain that Cuomo’s unethical actions deserved an ouster from CNN.
The left-leaning Rolling Stone magazine ran a headline Monday bluntly titled, 'Chris Cuomo Caught Doing Something That Would Get Any Other Journalist Fired.'"
