Obama-Backed Rebels Seize Bibles, Food Aid

Paul Joseph Watson infowars.com A new video out of Syria shows piles of bibles and food aid seized by opposition rebels, another reminder that militants who are being supported by the Obama administration are hostile to the country’s Christian community. The clip shows a member of a militant group that has been responsible for terrorist attacks and other atrocities picking up the bibles which are translated into Arabic before stating, “A large quantity of evangelization and christianization books have fallen into the hands of the Mujahideen of the Islamic State [of Iraq and Syria]…. The Holy Bible.”

The sign at the top left of the video frame reads, “There are things even more dangerous than chemical weapons – beware the preaching campaigns.”

“They exploit the need of the Syrian people, to spread the Christian thought,” the man states, adding, “They’re distributing it with swine meat products….they fool the gullible children with it.”

“Really large quantities of evangelization and christianization books, brought by Western organizations, exploiting the need of the Syrian citizens,” he adds before reading out the message written on the sign, “Oh nation of Mohammad Wake Up! There are things even more dangerous than chemical weapons. Beware the preaching campaigns.”

The seizure of food merely because it contains pork is particularly galling given the fact that more than 4 million Syrians have been displaced and many of them are desperate for food amidst skyrocketing prices.

Increasing hostility and brutality on behalf of the western-backed rebels towards Syria’s Christian population has caused outrage, perhaps peaking earlier this week when reports emerged of Al-Qaeda-linked rebels attacking the ancient Christian village of Maaloula, where residents still speak Aramaic, the language of Jesus.

The inhabitants were forced to shelter in a convent during the bombardment which started after a member of the Jabhat al Nusra terrorist group blew himself up at a nearby checkpoint.

Armed rebels affiliated with the Free Syrian Army have committed numerous atrocities against Christians, including a massacre of women and children in al-Duvair village near Homs in May. Photographs sent to Infowars also depicted the aftermath of the massacre, including images of a ransacked church.

As we reported in June last year, images sent to us by a woman in Homs depicted a desecrated Catholic church as well as a member of the FSA posing for a photograph wearing a looted priest’s robe.

FSA fighters also shot dead 11 Christians in a sectarian attack which occurred between the villages of Ein al-Ajouz and Nasrah last month.

Catholic Priest Fr. Francois Murad was also shot dead when he attempted to defend his sister nuns in the monastery of St. Simon during another rebel attack in June.

According to Christian Freedom International, “In many Syrian towns, lawlessness has become the norm. When government forces aren’t present, (pro-FSA) Muslims have been known to rob churches and kidnap, rape, or even kill Christian women.”
