NFL Bans ‘Offensive’ Pro-Gun Ad from the Super Bowl

Daniel Defense, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers and retailers in the firearms industry, was willing to pay top dollar for a commercial in the 2014 NFL Super Bowl. But the commercial — emphasizing personal responsibility, family security, and fundamental rights – was rejected “due to the rules the NFL has set into place for [Daniel Defense’s] category.” This despite the fact that Daniel’s Defense does not actually violate those “rules.” Top Right News looked in the NFL rule book, and we quote…
According to these guidelines, Daniel Defense’s Super Bowl commercial does notviolate NFL policy for two reasons: So the 62-second ad features NO firearms, and Daniel Defense was even willing to swap out the company’s rifle logo at the end of the ad with an American flag — but the NFL rejected them a second time. The ad complies will all league rules and regulations, but the NFL considers the ad to be too offensive to air... UPDATE: A source told Top Right News this afternoon that the NFL wants to avoid “controversial political issues”, and that weighed into their decision. But why then did the NFL allow this gun control ad by rabidly anti-gun mayors Michael Bloomberg (NYC) and Thomas Menino (Boston) during last year’s Super Bowl?
