Netanyahu Says He's Rallying International Support For War With Iran
trunews.com
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu possibly let slip his true intentions at an international conference in Warsaw convened by the United States to address Iran and other Middle East issues.
The ministerial conference in Warsaw, Poland, is being attended by Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, as well as other U.S. officials working on President Donald Trumpâs âDeal of the Centuryâ Israeli-Palestinian peace plan. But in a tweet that went out through Netanyahuâs official Twitter account, the Israeli premier said:
âWhat is important about this meeting, and it is not in secret, because there are many of thoseâis that this is an open meeting with representatives of leading Arab countries, that are sitting down together with Israel in order to advance the common interest of war with Iran.â
More than 60 countries are participating in the conference, many of them from the Middle East, Eurasia, and the Persian Gulf region. Netanyahuâs tweet was left up for more than an hour before it was deleted and replaced with a statement that changed âwar withâ to âcombating.â
The slip of the tweet was attributed to an incorrect translation from Hebrewâeven though most Israelis working in the government are fluent in English. However, it reinforced the notion that the conference was yet another step in the U.S. âregime change playbookâ that was used in the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
