1 minute video: Man sought after dragging deputy with car
clickorlando.com INDIAN RIVER, Fla. - Authorities are searching for the driver who they say dragged an Indian River County Sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop early Sunday morning. According to the release, the deputy was conducting a traffic stop on County Road 512 between Fellsemere and Interstate 95 and as one of the passengers inside the car was being arrested on drug possession charges, he broke from the deputy' grip. Andrew Coffee Sr., 33, got back into the car as driver Wesley Clark, 28, drove away. The deputy was Coffee and as a result, the deputy was dragged several feet and nearly run over by the car’s rear tire. Coffee's son, Andrew Coffee IV, 19, was also arrested after deputies found him with an app on his cellphone to listen to law enforcement radio traffic and believe he was arranging to pick up his father to avoid his capture. Clark is wanted for aggravated battery on law enforcement officer with deadly weapon, flee and elude, and leaving scene of accident with property damage. The deputy suffered minor injuries of scrapes on his face, forearm and knee as a result of being dragged.
