Man drives 800 miles for reopening of pub he calls “a way of life”
mirror.co.uk A reveller was so keen to attend the reopening of his favourite pub he drove all the way from Austria to be there. Dedicated Des Pirkhoffer, 49, camped outside the Frog and Frigate pub in Southampton, Hants, having driven 800 miles to be a part of its relaunch. The father-of-two drove for 15 hours before spending the night in a pop-up tent outside the boozer where he worked for five years from 1984 to 1989.
