John Paul II: The Koran Is Holy & Islam Is God’s Way (May 1985)

On May 9, 1985, John Paul II gave another speech to Muslims during a symposium in Rome.  It’s packed with blasphemy and heresy.

John Paul II, To the Participants in the Symposium on “Holiness in Christianity and in Islam” (Rome), May 9, 1985: “As I have often said in other meetings with Muslims, your God and ours is one and the same, and we are brothers and sisters in the faith of Abraham.  Thus it is natural that we have much to discuss concerning true holiness in obedience and worship to God.

All true holiness comes from God, who is called ‘The Holy One’ in the sacred books of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims.  Your holy Koran calls God ‘Al-Quddus,’ as in the verse: ‘He is God, besides whom there is no other…’ (Koran 59, 23)… In today’s world, it is more important than ever that men and women of faith, assisted by God’s grace, should strive for true holiness… The countless numbers of good people around the world – Christians, Muslims, and others – who quietly lead lives of authentic obedience, praise, and thanksgiving to God and selfless service of their neighbor, offer humanity a genuine alternative, ‘God’s way’, to a world which otherwise would be destroyed in self-seeking, hatred, and struggle.  May the God of holiness bless your efforts throughout these days!”

First, he blasphemes the true God by emphatically declaring that the false god of the Muslims is “one and the same” as the Most Holy Trinity.  He then says that Muslims “are brothers and sisters in the faith of Abraham”.  That’s heresy.  Muslims are infidels who don’t have any faith, and only those who are baptized and accept Christ belong to the faith of Abraham (Galatians 3:26-29).

John Paul II then discusses holiness.  The entire section implies that Muslims can be (and are) holy in their religion.  That’s heresy.  John Paul II explicitly calls the blasphemous Koran “holy”.  That’s a denial of the Christian faith.  He then states that there are countless Muslims who are good people and that they (and other non-Christians) “lead lives of authentic obedience” to God.  He explicitly teaches that Muslims follow “God’s way”!  Those statements clearly endorse the false religion of Islam as a way to be holy and reach God.  They are notoriously heretical and express religious indifferentism.  They also deny the dogma Outside The Church There Is No Salvation.  John Paul II was an apostate antipope.
