Groom fakes his own death to avoid marrying bride

Tucker Blandford’s fiancee Alex Lanchester was devastated to receive a call telling her he had committed suicide, throwing himself in the path of a car because he was so depressed.
But Tucker had made that call himself, disguising his voice to tell the shocking lie.
Struggling to take in the news, she later rang Tucker’s parents to offer her condolences – only to find she had been duped.
They said their son was alive and well, and his “suicide” had been a shameful deception only months before their big day.
Alex, 23, of Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, said: “He’s shattered my trust.
