Girl risks life, saves brother
recordnet.com STOCKTON — A 10-year-old girl was struck by a hit-and-run driver when she risked her life to save her 6-year-old brother Thursday afternoon as they were leaving Lottie Grunsky Elementary School, police and witnesses said. The siblings were crossing East Harding Way at School Avenue with a group of students about 2:10 p.m. when they noticed a car coming toward them at a high rate of speed, witnesses said. The girl pushed her brother out of the path of the car, which was traveling west on East Harding Way, police said. “The little girl tried to shove her brother out of the way,” said Leslie Castro, a campus safety supervisor. The girl sustained injuries to her back and hip when she was hit by the car, Castro said.
