"Fr. James Martin says not placing foster kids with gay couples is ‘homophobia’"
"Fr. James Martin SJ reacted to a major U.S. Supreme Court religious liberty case pitting so-called homosexual rights against a Catholic adoption agency’s conscience rights, siding with LGBT activsts and a host of far-left organizations.
When court observers yesterday suggested that a majority of the nine justices had signaled they would rule in favor of the Catholic child welfare agency, Martin lamented that choosing not to place foster kids with homosexual couples is 'homophobia.'
'Religious liberty should not be used as a cover for homophobia,' Martin tweeted.
The Jesuit then went on to repeat his usual argument, suggesting that ‘religious liberty’ exemptions are focused only on LGBT people and the only ‘church teaching’ that seems to matter has to do with same-sex marriage... Fr. Martin is perhaps the most prominent clergyman in the world arguing for the normalization of homosexuality and transgenderism within the Catholic Church.
He has long sought to undermine clergy and laity who continue to embrace the Church’s wisdom and best pastoral practices regarding same-sex attraction, asserting at the 2018 World Meeting of Families that 'most L.G.B.T. Catholics have been deeply wounded by the church.'
Martin used his platform at the Vatican-run gathering of Catholics to brazenly lobby for the Church to normalize homosexuality and transgenderism, going as far as urging the pastors to invite self-identifying LGBT individuals to serve as Eucharistic ministers.
Martin’s record of pro-gay activism is lengthy and ranges from his many speeches and media appearances promoting homosexuality to his retweeting of a complaint that priests can’t 'bless' gay unions to suggesting that the Church is full of 'homophobia' and 'marginalizes' the same-sex attracted.
He supports men kissing each other during the sign of peace at Mass... At a meeting in the nation’s capital earlier this year, Martin addressed 150 Catholic college and university presidents, urging them to promote “inclusion” on their campuses by promoting 'LGBT-affirming liturgies,' permitting students to choose their own pronouns, and holding 'Lavender Graduations.'"
