Fourteen show dogs die of heat stroke when air conditioning in truck fails in Indiana on scorching-hot day

Fourteen dogs died after air conditioning failed in the truck they were housed in for a dog show in northern Indiana.
St. Joseph County police Lt. William Redman says the dogs - 13 Golden Retrievers and a Brittany Spaniel - were discovered about 6.20pm on Friday outside a Quality Inn hotel in Roseland, just north of South Bend.
The vehicle transporting the animals to the Michiana Kennel Club AKC Dog Show was equipped with air conditioning in the cargo area but that an electrical circuit breaker cut the power. Redman says police do not know what triggered the circuit breaker.
