Former Marlboro Man becomes fifth actor from iconic cigarette ads to die of lung disease
SOPHIE JANE EVANS and HELEN POW dailymail.co.uk Another actor who portrayed the rugged Marlboro Man in cigarette adverts has died a smoking-related death. Eric Lawson who played the iconic cigarette-puffing cowboy during the late 1970s passed away aged 72 from respiratory failure earlier this month. Lawson appears to be the fifth actor or model who pitched Marlboro-branded cigarettes to have died of some form of lung disease.
