Creation Museum Founder Booted From College
trunews.com
"Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, Creation Museum, and the Ark Encounter, has no problem debating his views on creation and the Bible with liberal 'academics' who portend to have the answers to the universe, but it seems the same cannot be said for most liberals.
The latest example of liberal intolerance for reasonable discourse is the University of Central Oklahoma’s decision to cancel his scheduled appearance there next month. The decision to cancel his appearance was the result of immense pressure put upon the UCO Student Association and university officials by the campus LGBT advocacy group.
UCO canceled Ham’s speech in spite of a signed contract. The appearance was arranged by local pastor Paul Blair, who had worked through a separate campus group. He has since offered his church as a venue for the speech.
In a statement provided by Answers in Genesis, Ham said:
'Free speech in America is under increasing attack by some very intolerant people. In this case of discrimination, I find it highly ironic that after being booked to speak in the school's Constitution Hall, our constitutional right to free speech and the free exercise of religion, guaranteed under the First Amendment, have been denied.
'A small but vocal group on campus put up a fuss about my talk and the university caved in, tearing up the contract and contradicting its policies of promoting 'free inquiry' and 'inclusiveness' on campus.'"
