"Court issues ‘truly outrageous’ ruling against Little Sisters of the Poor"
"A federal district court in Philadelphia today sided with Pennsylvania and New Jersey in their years-long effort to force the Little Sisters of the Poor – an order of Catholic nuns who care for the elderly poor – to either provide abortion and contraceptives in their healthcare plan or pay tens of millions of dollars in fines.
The Becket Fund, the attorney group representing the sisters, called today’s decision a 'nationwide ruling against a Trump Administration religious conscience rule.'
'This is a truly outrageous ruling. After 14 years of litigation, PA and NJ are still trying to force the Little Sisters of the Poor to violate their consciences and now a district court is signing off on it,' wrote Becket Fund attorney, Eric Rassbach on X."
