Brazil throws its first Homosexual World Cup
Connor Sephton metro.co.uk It may have only finished last month, but the World Cup has returned to Brazil – with organisers insisting their opening ceremony has put the original event to shame. On Saturday, the Gay World Cup began in Manaus, the first ever held in the country. To kick things off, the tournament’s 120 players performed a choreographed routine to Waka Waka by Shakira, which was followed by a carnival. There are 12 sides battling it out – including a team formed of drag queens – and each group paid £30 for the privilege. to read more: metro.co.uk
