Benedict XVI Teaches That Muslims Are Believers

Benedict XVI, Address to Representatives of Islam, August 20, 2005: “The believer – and all of us, as Christians and Muslims, are believers – knows that, despite his weakness, he can count on the spiritual power of prayer… You, my esteemed friends, represent some Muslim communities from this Country where I was born, where I studied and where I lived for a good part of my life. That is why I wanted to meet you.   You guide Muslim believers and train them in the Islamic faith. Teaching is the vehicle through which ideas and convictions are transmitted. Words are highly influential in the education of the mind. You, therefore, have a great responsibility for the formation of the younger generation. I learn with gratitude of the spirit in which you assume responsibility.” (L’Osservatore Romano, August 24, 2005, p. 9.)

This is not just ambiguous or scandalous. This is heresy. The Catholic Church officially teaches that Muslims are infidels, which means unbelievers.  

Pope Clement V, Council of Vienne, 1311-1312: “It is an insult to the holy name and a disgrace to the Christian faith that in certain parts of the world subject to Christian princes where Saracens (i.e., The followers of Islam, also called Muslims) live, sometimes apart, sometimes intermingled with Christians, the Saracen priests, commonly called Zabazala, in their temples or mosques, in which the Saracens meet to adore the infidel Mahomet, loudly invoke and extol his name each day at certain hours from a high place… This brings disrepute on our faith and gives great scandal to the faithful. These practices cannot be tolerated without displeasing the divine majesty. We therefore, with the sacred council’s approval, strictly forbid such practices henceforth in Christian lands. We enjoin on Catholic princes, one and all.. They are to forbid expressly the public invocation of the sacrilegious name of Mahomet… Those who presume to act otherwise are to be so chastised by the princes for their irreverence, that others may be deterred from such boldness.”

Further, notice that Benedict XVI speaks to the teachers of Islam. In speaking to those who instruct people in this false religion, Benedict XVI says nothing about Christ (of course), nothing about conversion, and nothing about them abandoning their false religion. Rather, he basically praises the way in which they assume the task of inculcating this antichrist religion. This is just apostasy.
