Benedict XVI’s incredibly heretical statements praising schismatics and on how infants don’t need to be baptized

Benedict XVI, Message for the Enthronement of the New Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, September 27, 2007:

“To His Beatitude Daniel Archbishop of the Romanian Orthodox Church – I learned with great joy and sentiments of brotherly communion of your election to the Patriarchal See of the Orthodox Church of Romania, thus succeeding H.B. Teoctist, our Venerable Brother in Christ. At the time when you are beginning your new mission, I join you in a quite special way, Your Beatitude, as well as the Holy Synod of the Romanian Patriarchate, all the clergy and all the faithful who are rejoicing to receive you as the new Pastor called to lead the Romanian Orthodox Church.

“I ask the Holy Spirit to sustain you in this weighty office. May he help the Romanian Orthodox Church in her development so that she may face changes with renewed vitality…

“May the Lord accompany you so that your Church may respond to the expectations of the Romanian people and give them increasing hope, which they need in order to journey through life and communicate to the young generations the fundamental moral and spiritual values…

“On this blessed occasion when I join you in my thoughts, Your Beatitude, I wish you a successful pastoral service, illuminated by the light of Christ and fortified by the strength of the Holy Spirit…

“I make my own today Pope John Paul II’s words on that occasion: “Know, Your Beatitude that Catholics are at the side of their Orthodox brethren in prayer and in their willingness to help in any useful way. The one Gospel is waiting to be proclaimed by everyone together, in love and in mutual esteem.”

“The spirit that gave life to these words and to the commitment they proclaim remains timely for the Catholic Church and for me, and emphasizes that it is particularly necessary for the Church’s good to strengthen the ties that bind us…

“Relations between us must also be reinforced in order to respond to the actual needs in Europe and in the world on both the religious and social levels. To respond to our common vocation and to the pressing needs of our time, a common Christian witness is becoming more and more essential…

“With these sentiments of sincere joy and the certainty of a common commitment at the service of the Church’s unity, I address my most cordial congratulations to you and once again express my affection in the Lord Jesus Christ, as I pray for you yourself, for the Pastors and for all the faithful of the Orthodox Church of Romania.”[1]

First, Benedict XVI speaks of “brotherly communion” with the schismatics – heresy. Second, he calls a schismatic “His Beatitude”- smacking of schism. Third, he talks about the schismatic’s “election to the Patriarchal See of the Orthodox Church” – heresy. Fourth, he says that the openly schismatic leader he succeeded is “our Venerable Brother in Christ” – heresy. Fifth, he speaks of “at the time when you are beginning your new mission, I join you in quite a special way” – heresy. Sixth, he talks about the schismatic synod as the “Holy Synod of the Romanian Patriarchate” – heresy. Seventh, he speaks of “all the faithful” of the schismatic church – heresy. Eighth, he calls the schismatic a “pastor”- heresy. The schismatics are validly ordained and are therefore priests. But to be a pastor is to hold a jurisdictional office in the Catholic Church. Ninth, he says “I ask the Holy Spirit to sustain you in this weighty office” – heresy and blasphemy. He speaks as if an office in the schismatic Church is a true and very important office. He also asks the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to sustain him in his schismatic office. Tenth, he says “may he [God] help the Romanian Orthodox Church in her development” – heresy and blasphemy. May God help the schismatics in their development of schism, says the antipope.

Eleventh, he says “may the Lord accompany you so that your Church [the schismatic Church] may respond to the expectations of the Romanian people and give them increasing hope” and “fundamental moral and spiritual values” – heresy and blasphemy. Twelfth, he says “on this blessed occasion,” referring to the occasion of a schismatic moving into an office of leadership in a false schismatic Church – heresy. Thirteenth, he says “I wish you a successful pastoral service, illuminated by the light of Christ and fortified by the strength of the Holy Spirit” – heresy and blasphemy. Benedict the schismatic believes the true God illuminates and fortifies the openly schismatic Church. Fourteenth, he proclaims that “Catholics are at the side of their Orthodox brethren in prayer and in their willingness to help in any useful way…in mutual esteem” – heresy. Catholics only pray for the conversion of schismatics and Catholics do not esteem schismatics. Fifteenth, he speaks of how Catholics and the “Orthodox” must respond to the spiritual needs in Europe. He also speaks of “our common vocation,” “common witness” and “the certainty of a common commitment at the service of the Church’s unity”– heresy. Sixteenth, he speaks of “most cordial congratulations to you” and speaks of “all the faithful of the Orthodox [the schismatic church] Church of Romania” – heresy.

Benedict XVI manages to pack an amazing amount of heresy, schism and blasphemy into a very short letter. If you cannot see that he is a schismatic then unfortunately you are.       

Benedict XVI, Speech to the International Theological Commission, October 5, 2007: “The work of this seventh “quinquennium” of the International Theological Commission, as you recalled, Your Eminence, has already born fruit in practice with the publication of the Document “The Hope of Salvation for Infants Who Die Without Being Baptized”. The subject is treated here in the context of the universal saving will of God, the universality of the one mediation of Christ, the primary of divine grace and the sacramental nature of the Church. I am confident that this Document will be a useful reference point for Pastors of the Church and for theologians, as well as a help and source of consolation to members of the faithful who have suffered in their families the unexpected death of a child before he or she could receive the bath of baptismal regeneration… I congratulate you on the results you have already achieved and encourage you at the same time to persevere with commitment in the examination of the other themes proposed…”[2]

Benedict XVI says that the Catholic Church now offers “consolation to members of the faithful who have suffered in their families the unexpected death of a child before he or she could receive the bath of baptismal regeneration…” To teach Catholics that infants do not absolutely need water baptism to be saved is a horrible heresy, condemned by the Councils of Florence and Trent. Benedict XVI also congratulates the heretical commission for coming to the heretical conclusion that they came to and for producing the heretical document they did.
