Abortifacient drugs to be handed out to UK schoolgirls free and without parental consent
HILARY WHITE lifesitenews.com Condoms, IUDs, and the abortifacient morning-after pill should be given students in high schools – including those under age 16 – free of charge and without parents’ knowledge or consent, says a British government agency. In order to reduce Britain’s sky-high rates of teenage pregnancy, the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) says artificial contraceptives are to be made “readily accessible” for teens in schools, and school nurses should be allowed to dispense “emergency contraception” without a physician’s supervision or prescription. Under the guidance, teenage girls who intend to have sex will be able to pre-order the “morning after” pill in bulk and keep it at home. Women and girls should be “encouraged to consider and choose a suitable form of contraception for their future needs,” the government’s guidance said, including long-term contraceptive implants. Health care workers should understand that they will be called upon to give underage girls the drugs “without parental knowledge or consent, in accordance with best practice guidance.” “Health professionals, including pharmacists, who are unwilling (or unable) to provide emergency contraception should give young women details of other local services where they can be seen urgently,” the document said. While the medical establishment insists the morning-after pill operates merely as a contraceptive, the body of evidence suggesting it operates as an abortifacient, by preventing a newly-conceived embryo from implanting, is strong enough that one of the world’s leading advocates for the drug says women must be told of its abortifacient property.
