TV show starring rabbi, Antipope Francis wins Argentine Emmy
haaretz.com "A television show featuring a rabbi and Pope Francis won a Martin Fierro award Tuesday, the Argentine equivalent of an Emmy. The program, “Bible, A Valid Dialogue,” starred Rabbi Abraham Skorka and Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, now Pope Francis, along with Protestant minister Marcelo Figueroa. At the Martin Fierro Awards ceremony, held Tuesday at the iconic Colon Theater, a prerecorded message by Pope Francis was aired in which he addressed his production team. “You worked so hard to deserve this prize, God bless you,” he said. Also among the winners at this prestigious event were an Israeli television program and Jewish talents from the region. “B’Tipul,” "In Treatment in English or “En Terapia” in Spanish, created by Israeli Hagai Levy and produced in Buenos Aires by Argentine-Israeli Yair Dori, won a Fierro Award in the miniseries category. Among the local Jewish talents to win awards were Diego Korol for his comedy “Sin Codificar,” Ernesto Korovsky and Silvina Fredjkes for best script, Dario Straschnoy for best advertising, Andy Kutznesoff for best radio FM program, and the Uruguayan actor Daniel Hendler for best actor. Some 4 million viewers watched the award ceremony live on television."
