Abortionist will terminate ‘developed’ 26-week-old baby for $7k

One of America’s most infamous late-term abortionists is willing to abort healthy babies of healthy moms up to 28 weeks into pregnancy for thousands of dollars, a new undercover call revealed.
After 28 weeks, abortionist LeRoy Carhart will abort babies on a “case-by-case basis” if they and their moms are healthy.
Most babies are born at 40 weeks. One study showed that a significant number of babies survive when delivered as early as 22 weeks, just over five months of gestation.
Priests for Life and Abortion-Free New Mexico called AbortionClinics.org, the corporation under which Carhart is operating his Bethesda, Maryland facility. Carhart’s employee told the undercover caller that based on her height, weight, and medical history it would be $7,000 to abort her healthy baby at 26 weeks into pregnancy.
“Basically we can see you up until 28 weeks if there’s no medical reason,” the abortion worker said. “After 28 weeks it’s a case-by-case basis.”
If the mother waited until she was 27 weeks pregnant, the abortion would take four days rather than three.
“The doctor would do an induction through your abdominal wall [into] the uterus and into the fetus’s heart, which would actually stop the heartbeat the first day,” the unidentified abortion worker said.
“We insert what’s called laminaria – it’s [an] FDA-approved seaweed stick, kind of, just like a small wooden stick,” she explained. “It’s in your cervix overnight and absorbs body fluid and expands kind of like a tampon will to be able to [sic] open your cervix up. And then on the last day, which would be the third day, basically you would essentially be induced for labor.”
This labor would result in a “stillbirth,” she admitted.
The abortion worker assured the prospective client that pain would be minimal thanks to her cervix being numbed and the possibility of IV sedation, a type of “twilight drug” where she’d be awake “but you just don’t really remember any of it.”
She then understated, according to science, how “developed” the baby would be and the amount of pain he or she would feel.
“Research has shown that the digoxin injection into the heart – I mean, there wouldn’t be any pain – it would actually slowly stop the heartbeat and then, of course, there’s no pain after that,” the abortion worker said.
“I mean, it’s gonna be developed but not a viable pregnancy if it was outside of your body at that point in your pregnancy,” she said, because 26 weeks pregnant is “technically 24 weeks from conception.”
Babies as young as 21 weeks have survived after birth as neonatal healthcare improves. At 20 weeks, babies can feel and respond to pain.
The abortion worker said Carhart’s facility wouldn’t be able to meet with the mother to talk about her options.
An “options counseling session” is “not something that we provide,” she said. However, “if you wanna talk about the actual procedure itself we do do that but there’s a charge.”
Although Carhart is willing to commit abortions on women 28 weeks into a healthy pregnancy, he isn’t “inclined to offer in-office consultations for his patients who have questions before the [three-to-four-] day abortion procedure,” said Tara Shaver of Abortion-Free New Mexico.
“The abortion industry is not concerned with giving women information and choices; these profiteers are merely killers for hire who don't want to answer any questions,” said Shaver. “They just want to get paid."
When Carhart initially moved his abortion shop to Bethesda earlier this year, he wasn’t licensed to commit abortions there.
