Video shows stabbing on SEPTA elevator
philly.com
Philadelphia police have released a video of a man stabbing a woman in a SEPTA El station elevator in Kensington during an attempted robbery.
It was about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when the 30-year-old woman got into the street-level elevator for the Market-Frankford Line at the Huntingdon Station, 2600 Kensington Avenue, to go up to the elevated platform.
The video shows the man entering into the elevator after her.
After the door closes, the man is seen standing, facing the elevator door and speaking, while the woman stands in a corner.
The man then abruptly goes toward the woman and stabs her. He continues to threaten the woman with a knife, holding her by her neck as he stabs her again and goes through her pockets as she collapses onto the floor.
As the elevator door opens, the man runs away without taking the woman's purse, which lies on the ground.
