Pentagon Promises Forever War

William Mayville, director of operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who said forever war is a certainty. “I would think of it in terms of years,” Mayville said. Obama said as much on Tuesday. “This is not going to be something that is quick, and it is not something that is going to be easy,” he said. One might be reminded of George Orwell’s 1984 where the Inner Party conducted an unwinnable forever war. “We’ve always been at war with Eastasia,” the party claimed as it effortlessly changed enemies from “Eurasia” to “Eastasia” during Hate Week.
