John Paul II: Hinduism Is A Path To Happiness & Hindus Worship God (Aug. 1985)

John Paul II, To Muslim and Hindu Representatives of Kenya, Aug. 18, 1985: “I am grateful for this opportunity to meet leaders and representatives of the Islamic and Hindu communities in Kenya… On my first visit to Kenya, I stated in my message to the Hindu community: ‘The purpose of life, the nature of good, the path to happiness, the meaning of death and the end of our human journey – all these truths form the object of our common service of man and his many needs…’ (May 7, 1980).  I would like to reaffirm these words today: they hold true also for the Catholic Church’s relationship with the Muslim people.

Humanity has many needs… the need to respect and defend human rights without any discrimination on the basis of race, ethnic group, religion, age, social class, or sex… In the face of all these human needs – spiritual, material and social – the religions of the world cannot remain passive… our worship of God and the spiritual values we hold in esteem – motivate us to become fraternal allies in service to the human family…

We are all children of the same God, members of the great human family.  Our religions have a special role to fulfill in curbing these evils and in forging bonds of trust and fellowship.  God’s will is that those who worship him, even if not united in the same worship, would nevertheless be united in brotherhood and in common service for the good of all.” 

In this speech to Muslims and Hindus (given on August 18, 1985), John Paul II promotes apostasy once again.  Keep in mind that Hindus worship a multitude of idols and false gods.  Hinduism is a religion of blatant idolatry which also teaches reincarnation.  Nevertheless, John Paul II states that the service Hinduism provides to man is that it teaches “truths” about the “purpose of life” and the “path to happiness”.  That’s a blatant heresy and an abominable lie, for Hinduism doesn’t lead to happiness but to damnation.  It doesn’t teach the truth about life and death but countless lies and myths.

Pope Leo XIII correctly taught that Hindus are “miserably imprisoned in the darkness of superstition”. 

Pope Leo XIII, Ad Extremas (#1), June 24, 1893: “Our thoughts turn first of all to the blessed Apostle Thomas who is rightly called the founder of preaching the Gospel to the Hindus. Then, there is Francis Xavier… Through his extraordinary perseverance, he converted hundreds of thousands of Hindus from the myths and vile superstitions of the Brahmans to the true religion. In the footsteps of this holy man followed numerous priests… they are continuing these noble efforts; nevertheless, in the vast reaches of the Earth, many are still deprived of the truth, miserably imprisoned in the darkness of superstition.”

John Paul II applied the same statements to Islam.  John Paul II’s declarations are tantamount to an endorsement of Hinduism and Islam.  They constitute apostasy.  He also teaches that Hindus and Muslims are “children of the same God” and that they “worship him”.  That’s also a denial of the Catholic faith, for Hindus obviously don’t worship God but idols and devils.  (Muslims don’t worship the true God, either.)  They are also not children of God, for only those who are in the Church of Christ can be children of God (John 1:12; 1 John 3; 1 John 5:1).  John Paul II was an apostate antipope.
