Proposed New Jersey Legislation Would Censor & Penalize Doctors For "Disseminating Misinformation"
A piece of legislation introduced in New Jersey seeks to censor and penalize doctors who âdisseminate misinformationâ. If passed, healthcare workers who âdisseminate misinformationâ can face professional misconduct charges from occupational licensing boards, with the nature of the punishments being determined by said boards.
The bill defines âmisinformationâ as something that is âcontradicted by contemporary scientific consensusâ. It should be noted that, according to the âcontemporary scientific consensusâ, Dr. Tony Fauci IS the science.
âThis bill establishes the act of disseminating misinformation or disinformation by a health care professional as an act of professional misconduct subject to disciplinary action. It is the sponsorâs intent that this legislation will help combat health misinformation and curb the spread of falsehoods that threaten the health and safety of New Jersey residents,â the bill said. âThe bill defines âdisseminateâ to mean the conveyance of information, in the form of treatment or advice, from a health care professional to a patient under the health care professionalâs care. âMisinformationâ means any health-related claim of fact that is false and contradicted by contemporary scientific consensus contrary to the standard of care. âDisinformationâ means misinformation that is deliberately disseminated with malicious intent or an intent to mislead.â
The bill was called a âgrave danger to medical freedomâ by the McCullough Foundation on Tuesday.
