DC Reveals They Spent $270,000 To Paint "Black Lives Matter" On Street Near Trump White House

Newly released documents from the District of Columbia reveal in 2020 the city spent over a quarter million dollars to paint “Black Lives Matter” on a public street near the White House as part of an election-year anti-Trump publicity stunt.

Two years later BLM's “Defund The Police” initiative proved so politically toxic D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who ordered the street painting, ran campaign ads in the Democrat primary claiming she supported the police.

But at the time, Bowser and D.C. leaders opened up taxpayer funds to paint leftist political slogans on Washington streets.

Judicial Watch received 25 pages of records in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from the Washington, DC Department of Transportation which “show the cost to taxpayers to repaint the Black Lives Matter slogan on a street in the nation's capital was over $270,000,” the group announced.

“DC crime is out of control but local leaders continue to waste $270,000 in tax money promoting the extremist Black Lives Matter movement in the heart of Washington DC that is racist, anti-police, anti-American, and often violent,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
