California considers per-mile tax to fill budget shortfall
Justin King leftlanenews.com The California legislature is currently considering a bill that would explore a mileage based tax, known as a vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax.
The coastal state, which already has one of the highest gasoline taxes in the nation, is attempting to find ways to supplement revenue for infrastructure projects without hiking fees at the pump.
