46 second video: Woman gets in wreck and is robbed while she is trapped inside her car
ksla.com Bossier City police are looking for a man who may have snatched a wad of cash that had been thrown from a car moments after it wrecked on Barkdsale Boulevard early Monday afternoon. Police say the woman had been heading eastbound in her Toyota in the 1600 block of Barksdale near the intersection with Westerfield Street around 1:40 p.m. when it collided with a Chevy Tahoe that was pulling out of a dentist's office nearby. The impact sent the Toyota spinning before it flipped and landed upside down on its roof. Witnesses told police they saw a man snatch the cash out of the street and head east on Barksdale on foot, while the woman remained trapped in her overturned Toyota. Of the $200 reportedly in the car at the time of the crash, police say $100 has been recovered. Bossier Police spokesperson Mark Natale says detectives are checking with area businesses to see if security cameras may have captured the alleged theft. If identified and arrested, the man would likely face a misdemeanor theft charge. The driver of the Toyota was taken to LSU Health with injuries that have been described as "non-life-threatening." No one else was injured. Natale says the driver of the Tahoe has been cited for failure to yield from a private drive.
