There are many people who claim that no matter how wickedly a person lived and died, one must never conclude that such a person went to Hell. They are wrong and contradicted by various statements of saints and others. Here’s an interesting example from Pope Stephen II. He stated that the Lombard King Aistulf went to Hell.
Pope Stephen II, To King Pippin (Codex Epistolaris Carolinus 8), 757: “Indeed that tyrant, that follower of the devil, Aistulf, drinker of Christian blood, destroyer of God’s churches, was struck by a divine blow and sank into the pit of Hell…”
It’s noteworthy that the final address released by Antipope Francis teaches the heresy of religious liberty and related errors. This further demonstrates that he persisted in his false religion to the end.
Antipope Francis, Final Address, April 20, 2025: “There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for the views of others.”
Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura, Dec. 8, 1864: “From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster that erroneous opinion, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our Predecessor, Gregory XVI, an ‘insanity, namely, that ‘liberty of conscience and worship is each man’s personal right, which ought to be legally proclaimed and asserted in every rightly constituted society.’”

... So much media coverage for this awful heretic. I heard him being referred to as having been so merciful because he "understood love" / his acceptance - which is promotion - of same sex relationships. That made me angry, he didn't show them mercy he showed them a path to hell.

After the news of Antipope Francis’ death, it’s disgraceful to see so many people in the Novus Ordo and various false traditionalists praying for him. Since Francis died as an unrepentant public heretic who was guilty of a multitude of public scandals and grave sins in addition to his many heresies, no Catholic may pray for him. That's the Church's teaching. Those who do pray for him after his death in notorious heresy contradict Catholic teaching and demonstrate that they don't profess the true faith. This video covers the Church’s teaching that Catholics are not permitted to pray for deceased heretics, deceased non-Catholics, and others who clearly die in grave sin. We plan to have more comments on the death of Antipope Francis.

Pope St. Gelasius (492-496), Fragmentum 49: “It should be known that according to the precept of the canon it is not licit for the faithful, that is, to those already baptized, to stand at the time of prayer and canonical praise with the hearers, that is, the catechumens, and simultaneously with them to pray or to chant masses.”
This is another quote that demonstrates the Catholic Church’s teaching that only the water baptized are part of the faithful. That’s very significant because the Church infallibly teaches that there’s absolutely no salvation outside the one Church of the faithful. Hence, no one can be saved without water baptism.
Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215, ex cathedra: “There is indeed one universal Church of the faithful, outside of which no one at all is saved.”

Yet again, an astounding piece of research from Br. Peter. Related to the same subject seems to be a quote from a letter Pope St. Julius I (who succeeded Pope St. Mark in 337), sent to the Eusebian bishops in the East regarding the case of St. Athanasius, in which he calmly and impartially meets their accusations one by one and refutes them. Towards the end he states the procedure they ought to have followed:
“Are you not aware that it is customary that we should first be written to, that from hence what is just may be defined? … Whereas you expect us to approve condemnation in which we had no part. This is not according to the precepts of Paul or the tradition of the fathers. All this is strange and new. Allow me to speak as I do: I write what I write in the common interest, and what I now signify is what we have received from the blessed apostle Peter”. This letter has been characterized by Tillemont as “one of the finest monuments of ecclesiastical antiquity”, and by Monsignor Batiffol as “a model of weightiness, wisdom and charity”. Pope St. Julius I died in A.D. 352…
