Suspect accused of attacking Houston park ranger with pipe
Jessica Willey abc13.com A City of Houston park ranger, beaten on the job after interrupting a sexual assault, remains in the hospital. Conrad D'Sean Wilturner is scheduled for reconstructive surgery Thursday at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Wilturner is an Urban Park Ranger.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, he was checking property at Cullinan Park near Sugar Land early Monday morning when he came across a man sexually assaulting and beating a woman. Authorities say in response, that man, now identified as Migueal Velasquez, 25, grabbed a steel pipe and hit Wilturner in the face and head several times.
Both the woman and Wilturner were rushed to the hospital.
"That's so sad. Not safe nowhere," parkgoer Leticia Avila said.
