Clapper Lets Slip Obama "Tasked" IC Assessment

In an interview Saturday with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper admitted that President Barack Obama initiated the investigations that led to the “Russia Narrative” and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s current probe of alleged Russian government connections to President Donald Trump.
Clapper, who has been leading the charge on the Russia allegations for the better part of two years, told Cooper:
“If it weren’t for President Obama we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set up a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today including Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation. President Obama is responsible for that. It was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.”
As TruNews has previously reported, the Strzok-Page text messages contain a reference to the White House “running” a previous undisclosed investigation. The message from FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok to bureau attorney Lisa Page was sent after the former went to London to interview then-Australian High Commissioner Alexander Downer about his discussions with Trump campaign volunteer George Papadopoulos as part of the bureau’s Operation Crossfire Hurricane.
